Happy New Year friends and welcome (belatedly) to 2023.
Wow, seven days in and it’s already been a roller coaster ride, hasn’t it?

The end of 2022 was just a free fall into crashing and burning. I won’t bore you will the particulars but I’m back for a new year, new ideas, new books and new excitement!
I’ve acquired some new tools that will hopefully make this year a bit more organized. If you remember me discussing Little Inklings Design’s Always Fully Booked planner in a previous blog, well, it came in and I am overwhelmed with the size of this thing! It’s a full yearly planner with room for books, stickers, sectioned monthly pages. It’s well worth the price of the planner and when I first saw it, I was a little overwhelmed. But this years plan is to get more organized with reviews, books and musings so I think this will help. I bought my bestie one as well and he was tickled by it so I think we both have great ideas for the coming new year.
Another idea that was sent to me this past December is a website called Booktasters. I know at the beginning of my journey one of my resolutions was that I wasn’t going to beg for books. Authors, especially some of the indie authors I read and review, deserve to have their books reviewed but they also deserve to be paid for their craft.
However, looking at this website, it looks as if most of the books come from sites where you could normally by the first book for free. I’ve been following Bookbub, which is a low cost to free e-book site that sends links for Kindle and other e-readers for books, Booktasters looks like it might be the same thing with the caveat that you leave reviews through Amazon and Goodreads.
I haven’t applied for it yet, I’m waiting to see if the friend who recommended it to me enjoys it before I apply. While I post these bi-weekly reviews, I need to push myself to actually post reviews on both Goodreads and Amazon. There are too many good books out there and authors deserving of reviews and I need to work on that.

I’m currently going to school for a Public Relations degree. Which you couldn’t tell at all if you looked at my social media websites! Another resolution for this year is to update those at least monthly was the most. I’m going to try for more. Wish me luck!
There’s so many exciting things coming up in the new year friends! So many things I want to talk about, to review. So let’s get to it!
Next week I’ll finally post my review on last year’s mysterious book Corinne. While it was the author who was mysterious, the book itself had a lot to unpack and the original review I wrote needed to be tweaked and reread and thought about. I’ll finally post that for my first 2023 review. And then we’ll go from there.
I can’t wait to see what 2023 brings friends! See you soon as as always, grab your favorite drink and get comfortable with a good book.
