Zoinks, Tim!

Grab your squeezy penguins and your dog treats because we’re about to find out what happened to Old Man Winters in the haunted mansion!

This read was called Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero and oh my gosh if you aren’t trying to figure out which one is Velma and which one is Fred by the first chapter, you’re doing it wrong. I mean, look at this cover!

The DayGlo is not accurately shown in this picture, but it’s there! Trust me, it’s there.

This is the story of the Blyton Summer Detective Club’s last case. It jumps to years later and how this final case has affected the entirety of the gang and how it may or may not have been an old man in a rubber mask. The story is engaging and nostalgic and even though the dog (whose name is Tim, by the way) does not talk in this story, it’s expressions are hilarious! I’m not sure I’ve ever heard the term Byronian face used for a dog before this book.

If you were ever a fan of Scooby Doo (and let’s face it, who isn’t), and wondered what happened to the gang after they grew up (again, who hasn’t) then this book is absolutely for you. I honestly cannot recommend this book enough. And haven’t yet. I’m still going. I have a lot of friends who loved those meddling kids.

If you’ve read the book, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Loved it? Hated it? Click the comment link below and let me know. The next book I’ll be reviewing is one that relatively new. O-bitch-uarty by Ticia Rani. The blurb says to have tissues on hand. I feel I might have to take that advise.

Until next time friends, curl up and enjoy a good book.
