It’s Christmas season and I want to know, what’s your favorite Christmas book?
You know, the one that you read every year around this time. The one you read as a child and resonated with you long after to the point that you can still remember parts of the story?
I know a lot of people drift towards the classics, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens or Gift of the Magi by O Henry. There’s the children’s classics How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss or A Visit from St. Nicholas– commonly known as Twas the Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore.

My favorite Christmas book as a child was a 1967 book called The Story of Holly and Ivy by Rumer Godden. It was a story about a little orphan girl named Ivy who wished for someone to be with on Christmas and a doll names Holly who wished for the same thing. I remember reading this book so many times over the years until the pages fell from the binding and while I no longer own this book, it still holds a special place in my heart.

So, what’s yours friends? Is it something classical? Something funny? Something new that you read, and it stuck with you? Let me know. Maybe someone else loved that book as well.

Happy memories my friends and as always, get comfy, find your favorite drink and settle in with a good book.
